Best ofPower Stations
Best Mid-Size Power Stations (500–1500Wh)
The best mid-size power stations from 500 to 1500Wh, ranked on our scoring, with fridge, microwave and CPAP runtimes worked out for every pick we name.
Portable power, worked out from the spec sheet
We turn the spec sheets of 40 power stations and 27 solar panels into runtimes you can plan around: how long your fridge, CPAP or router lasts, and which panel refills the battery. Every ranking comes from a published scoring method, not from who pays.

DataPower Stations
Can a power station run a space heater? Yes, briefly: a 1kWh unit lasts about 35 minutes on 1,500 W. See runtimes for five stations and why blankets win.
Runtime is usable energy divided by what you plug in. We count 85% of a station's rated watt-hours as usable, because the inverter and DC converters lose the rest as heat, and we average fridges and freezers over their compressor cycle.
Solar estimates assume a panel delivers 75% of its rating in good sun, capped by the station's solar input. A panel only counts as compatible when its open-circuit voltage fits the station's published window. Read the full method.
